Apply to Take Part in the Family Poster Series

Learning Life’s Family Poster Series helps bring attention to families across the world, their particularities and issues affecting them, as part of Learning Life’s wider effort to spread family diplomacy globally.

Learning Life’s Family Diplomacy Initiative (FDI) is an ambitious, grassroots effort to connect, train and empower a growing international corps of volunteer Family Diplomats (FDs), and Family Diplomacy Ambassadors (FDAs), to participate in decision-making at local to global levels.  We envision a world more connected and caring because every family has one or more FDs and/or FDAs networked with their fellows and families across the globe, and these citizen diplomats together advocate effectively for the needs, concerns and aspirations of families worldwide via nonprofits, businesses, media and governments.

“Seeing families from across the world, learning about them and the issues affecting them through the new Family Poster Series helps bring attention to the need for family diplomacy to connect families across lines of difference, and give them voice in the policies that impact them,” said Paul Lachelier, Learning Life’s founder and director.

Any family may apply to be profiled in the new Family Poster Series, though not all families will be profiled.  In selecting families to highlight on the posters, Learning Life prioritizes diversity by country and culture, but also families of our FDs and FDAs, as well as families affected by the five major family issues the Family Diplomacy Initiative (FDI) focuses on: war, poverty, climate change, gender-based violence and the internet.

Those families featured in the Family Poster Series have their posters shared via Learning Life’s social media, including our FDI Facebook Group.  The Family Posters below each feature the family of one of our FDs.  Learn more about the volunteer FD and FDA roles here.
