In 2025, Learning Life is launching an email DMV Democracy Dispatch that will regularly serve up, free of charge: (a) selected upcoming events, new publications, and other news, (b) profiles of local activists, scholars and other leaders, and (c) inspiring democracy examples local to global to help advance democracy in the DC region.

The Democracy Dispatch is the next step in the development of the DMV Democracy Learning Community.  The Community is an association of Washington, DC area individuals and organizations working to make democracy more fun and inclusive by connecting professionals, publics and policymakers via social events, products, services and spaces that nurture fun, learning, networking, collaboration and wider, deeper citizen participation.

In 2019, Learning Life launched the Community with our Democracy Dinners.  In 2024, having held 48 Dinners and built a list of 8,000+ contacts in the DC region, we launched the second significant step: the first DMV Democracy Festival, which took place on Saturday, October 26.   In 2025, Learning Life is launching the Dispatch to widen the Community, and help DC area residents connect, become more informed, and take action to strengthen democracy at local to global levels.

“All communities need a medium for sharing information of common interest, connecting their members, and publicizing their activities.  The DMV Democracy Dispatch will do just that by reporting regional events, publications, leaders, and more, and in so doing, help deepen democracy in the United States’s capital region and beyond,” explained Learning Life’s founder, Paul Lachelier.
